Financial processes are becoming more and more digital. On September 30th 2022, PostFinance will remove the widely used payment slips from its payment transactions and replace them with QR bills and eBills. This is intended to promote digitalisation and simplify payment transactions for invoice issuers and recipients.
Invoice issuers need to switch
Companies that still use the old payment transaction methods must change their processes and software in time. We recommend companies that have not yet considered switching to QR-bills to do so in a near future. The first step is to contact the bank or software partner to prepare for the conversion. QR-bills as well as eBill are already in use today and work perfectly. Therefore, there is no need to wait until September’s end to make the changeover. Once the infrastructure is adapted, the invoicing and payment process will become much more efficient.
Advantages of invoicing with QR-bill and eBill
• More efficiency in administration and invoicing and payment transactions can be automated more easily
• Simplified payment reconciliation leads to less manual work
• Less or no paper consumption
• Companies have a free choice between QR-bill and eBill, a combination of both payment methods is also possible - depending on the needs of the company and the customers, an individual decision can be made.
The digitalisation of Swiss payment traffic
With the development and market launch of the new QR-bill and eBill, financial processes are becoming digital. The QR-bill also meets the increased requirements of compliance and automation processes and brings advantages to all market participants in the Swiss economy.
